Company accounts have to be filed with Companies House and HMRC within 9 months and 1 day of the company year-end date. Your corporation tax return has to be in within 12 months after the end of the accounting period it covers.

We know these two tasks weigh on the minds of a lot of company directors. They take a lot of time, the rules are complicated and the penalties for getting it wrong can be harsh. The easiest approach is to get a qualified accountant to look after it for you.

First, we’ll beat those Government deadlines by a long way: we challenge ourselves to file within three months, not nine. It feels good to get this out of the way and it makes more room for planning.

That includes research and development (R&D) tax credits and capital gains tax (CGT), which can really sting if you don’t manage it properly.
